#TCCBaseball: Arias Ks 11 as Eagles roll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 6, 2016) – Freshman Skylar Arias struck out 11 batters in Tallahassee Community College's 10-2 win over Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College on Sunday afternoon.

Arias (3-0) scattered nine hits and walk two batters in the complete-game effort, locking up his third win of the season.

The Eagles (22-6) have taken the first two games against the Raiders (0-4) and will look to complete the sweep when the teams play a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. Monday.

Unlike Friday's series opener, when Tallahassee exploded for eight runs in its first at-bat, a steady offensive attack was the winning recipe on Sunday.

The Eagles got on the board in the first when Myron Mebane snuck one just inside the bag at third for an RBI-double. An inning later, Tallahassee plated three more – Ethan Crout doubled home two runs then later scored on Kyle Cavanaugh's sac-fly to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead.

A pair of fourth-inning runs extended the lead to 6-0 and after Grand Rapids got on the board with two runs in the top of the fifth, Tallahassee answered with two of its own in the bottom half.

Mac Wilson's single scored Tyler Maley from third, and Bret Maxwell came home on Zach Featherstone's sac-fly for an 8-2 lead.

In the seventh, Wilson's sac-fly scored Maxwell, and Cavanaugh singled home Chase Hahnemann to complete the scoring.

Wilson finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Cavanaugh was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs. Deyvid Silva and Maxwell had two hits each, and Crout drove in two runs.
