#TCCBaseball drops third straight

MARIANNA, Fla. (March 21, 2016) - Tallahassee Community College's baseball team dropped a 15-8 decision to Chipola College on Monday in the third and final game of the teams' Panhandle Conference series.

The Eagles (28-10) have dropped three straight for the first time all season and sit at 2-4 in PC play, three games back of first place Chipola (26-9, 5-1), heading into a bye week.

Tallahassee will resume play next Monday when it opens a three-game set with second-place Gulf Coast State College (4-2), who completed a three-game sweep of defending national champion Northwest Florida State College on Monday.

Tallahassee carried a 1-0 lead to the bottom of the third, but that's when the flood gates opened.

Chipola scored all 15 of its runs over the next four innings, beginning with five in the third. After scoring three in the fourth, the Indians led 8-2.

Tallahassee clawed its way back into the game with three in the fifth, but Chipola answered with five runs in the bottom half to lead 13-5.

Trailing 15-6 after six, the Eagles scored two runs in the seventh to extend the game and had opportunities to get even closer but left nine runners on base.

Zach Featherstone led Tallahassee's 11-hit attack, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs.

Nick Marchese (3-2) took the loss for Tallahassee.
