TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 10, 2015) – Two Tallahassee Community College baseball standouts – pitcher Dustin Dye and outfielder Geremy Walton – have signed national letters of intent with Flagler College and Lee College, respectively.

Dye, a native of Deland, Fla., played for the Eagles in 2015 after transferring from Catawba (N.C.) College.

With the Eagles, the right-hander appeared in 14 games and made seven starts during which he posted a 3-2 record and 3.40 ERA in 47.2 innings pitched.

Walton, who is from Newnan, Ga., is the nephew of former Major Leaguer Jerome Walton, who kicked off a 10-year career in the big leagues by winning the 1989 National League Rookie of the Year Award as a member of the Chicago Cubs.

Walton appeared in 79 games during his two-year career (2014-15) with the Eagles. As a freshman in 2014, he batted .255 with two home runs, 11 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.

In 2015, his batting average skyrocketed 53 points to .308 and he increased his RBI total to 19 while again posting double-digit steals (10).

Both Flagler and Lee are NCAA Division II programs – Flagler, located in St. Augustine, Fla., competes in the Peach Belt Conference; Lee, located in Cleveland, Tenn., competes in the Gulf South Conference.
