DOUGLAS, Ga. (February 3, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's baseball team lost its first game of the season on Friday, dropping a 5-4 decision at South Georgia State College.
The loss snapped a five-game winning streak to open the season for Tallahassee (5-1). Conversely, South Georgia State (1-3) got into the win column for the first time this season.
The teams split the home-and-home series, which opened on Wednesday with Tallahassee claiming a 12-4 win at Eagle Field.
Tallahassee appeared to be on its way to win number six in a row, leading 3-0 but the Hawks rallied and tagged reliever Hunter Tinsley with the loss.
Offensively, Tucker Rayburn went 2-for-4 with a double for the Eagles.
Tallahassee will head back to the Peach State on Saturday for a 2 p.m. first pitch at Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College.
