#TCCBaseball rolls past IMG in record fashion

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 1, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's baseball team scored a school record 30 runs in Wednesday's 30-3 win over IMG Academy.

The Eagles have won five straight games to improve to 12-10 overall.

The 30 runs surpassed the previous record of 27 scored against Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College exactly seven years ago today. Tallahassee won 27-2 in a game that is now the former record holder for margin of victory, thanks to Wednesday's 27-run win.

Tallahassee scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back.

Cole Vann's grand slam capped a five-run second and extended the Eagles' lead to 9-0.

After a scoreless third, Tanner Thomas led off the fourth with a solo homer, the beginning of a nine-run inning. Thomas homered again in the inning, this time a three-run shot that put Tallahassee in front, 18-0.

Thomas just missed a third home run in the sixth, instead settling for a long two-run single off the right field wall. He scored one batter later on Bryce Plummer's triple.

A wild pitch brought Plummer home from third for the final run of the evening.

Thomas finished 4-for-5 with six runs scored and seven RBIs.

Vann was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and five RBIs.

Deyvid Silva was 4-for-4 with three runs scored and six RBIs.

Hunter Shuff (1-1) went five innings to pick up the victory. He allowed only four hits.

Tallahassee will host Grand Rapids at 6 p.m. Thursday.
