PANAMA CITY, Fla. (March 18, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's baseball team split a doubleheader at Gulf Coast State College on Saturday.
The Eagles picked up a 4-2 win in game one then fell to the Commodores in game two, 10-9.
By splitting the twin bill, Tallahassee (17-17, 2-6 Panhandle Conference) split this week's four-game series with nationally-ranked Gulf Coast State (22-8, 3-5) and remains one game behind the Commodores in the league standings.
In the opener, Nick Marchese pitched six innings to pick up the win. Derick Garcia recorded the final three outs to notch the save.
Gulf Coast State scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh of game two to pick up the split.
Tallahassee opens a four-game set at Pensacola State College on Tuesday.
