#TCCBaseball: Eagles pound Andrew 18-7

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 6, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College collected 17 hits in an 18-7 win over Andrew (Ga.) College on Tuesday afternoon at Eagle Field.

The Eagles are now 5-3 on the season.

Following a scoreless first inning, Tallahassee put five runs on the board in the second, and the Eagles were off and running.

Tucker Rayburn's two-run homer started the scoring for Tallahassee and, following a sac-fly off the bat of Trey Polewski, Tanner Thomas doubled home two runs and the Eagles led 5-0.

That proved to be all the run support starting pitcher Derick Garcia (1-1) needed. He pitched five complete innings and left with a 13-2 lead.

Tallahassee scored two runs in the third, three in the fourth and three more in the fifth.

Both teams scored two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Thomas tripled home Cory Labsan for the first run of the seventh and later scored on Keith Lyle's triple. Lyle scored when Logan Lacey singled to left, ending the game.

Thomas went 4-for-5, finishing a home run shy of the cycle. He scored four runs and drove in three.

Lacey was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBI.

Cole Vann went 2-for-5 and scored three times. Rayburn was 1-for-2, scored twice and drove in three runs.

Labsan was 2-for-4 and scored two runs.

Garcia allowed five hits, two runs and one walk while striking out six.

Tallahassee will host Shelton (Ala.) State Community College for a three-game series beginning at 4 p.m. Friday.
