#TCCBaseball: ABAC snaps Eagles’ win streak at nine

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 28, 2018) – Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College won game two of a doubleheader, 7-3, on Wednesday evening to snap Tallahassee Community College's nine-game winning streak.

The Eagles' win streak reached nine with an 8-4 win in game one.

In the opener, both teams' pitchers had trouble slowing down the opposing offenses in the early going.

Tallahassee starter Tyler Lehrmann gave up three earned runs before exiting after 2.2 innings. He was relieved by Collier Baggett, who walked both batters he faced.

ABAC starter Walker Bass pitched into the third but failed to retire either batter he faced in the inning.

Finally, it was Tallahassee's Alex Stobert (1-1) who settled in and found a rhythm. He scattered five hits and allowed just one run over four innings to earn the win.

Trailing 2-1, the Eagles plated three runs in the second to take the lead.

Trey Polewski singled home Tucker Rayburn to tie the game and later scored on Luke Ard's sac-fly to left. Mason Miller's RBI-single scored Alex Mills to complete the scoring.

Tallahassee extended the lead an inning later.

Polewski's single scored Cole Vann and Logan Lacey raced home on an errant cutoff throw to make the score 6-3.

Miller and Rayburn had two hits each to lead the Eagles' 11-hit attack.

In game two, the Stallions roughed up Lacey (3-1) for four runs in the top of the first. He allowed only one more run before leaving after four innings but did so with the Eagles trailing 5-2.

Lacey and three relievers combined for 14 strikeouts in just seven innings.

Miller had two more hits in game two, as did Tanner Thomas and Polewski.

Tallahassee will close its pre-Panhandle Conference schedule with a three-game series against Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College. Game one is at 1 p.m. Sunday.
