#TCCBaseball: Eagles come from behind to beat GCSC

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (March 15, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College scored three runs in the seventh to erase a 6-5 deficit and defeated Gulf Coast State College, 9-6, on Thursday to even the teams' Panhandle Conference series at a game apiece.

Tallahassee (18-11) is now 2-4 through six games of the PC schedule and hosts Gulf Coast State (16-10, 4-2) for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Halfway through on Thursday, it was all Tallahassee. The Eagles scored two runs in the top of the fifth, including one courtesy of a two-out error, and led 5-2.

In the bottom half, however, a leadoff walk sparked a four-run inning. Stevie Moffatt's two-run single capped the scoring and pushed the Commodores in front, 6-5.

Tallahassee went quietly in the sixth then exploded for three runs in the seventh.

Cole Vann got things started with a one-out walk and advanced to third on Logan Lacey's double. Tucker Rayburn singled both runners home to give the Eagles a 7-6 lead.

Following a fly out in foul territory for out number two, Trey Polewski doubled to score Rayburn.

Rayburn went 2-for-5, scored two runs and drove in three. Polewski was 2-for-4 (two doubles) with an RBI.

The Eagles added an insurance run in the ninth when Luke Ard singled home Vann.

Jake Kinney, the last of four Tallahassee pitchers, threw the final two innings to record the save. Tyler Lehrmann tossed two scoreless innings for the win.
