#TCCBaseball: Eagles blow past Edward Waters JV

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 21, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College's baseball team made quick work of the Edward Waters College JV on Wednesday, winning both games of the doubleheader in five innings, 10-0 and 11-1.

Tallahassee is now 21-12 and will host the Thomas University JV for a doubleheader on Thursday beginning at 3 p.m.

In game one, Tallahassee broke a scoreless tie in the third, thanks in large part to four defensive errors by the Tigers. The result was a 3-0 lead for the Eagles.

Tallahassee blew the game open an inning later.

Three walks loaded the bases for Jayson Sowden, who singled to center, scoring Tucker Rayburn and Trey Polewski. Mason Miller followed with a single to plate Keith Lyle and Sowden.

After Logan Lacey had a run-scoring single, the sixth walk of the inning forced home Cole Vann with the final run.

Justin Sorokowski (1-0) allowed one hit in four innings for his first win of the year. Kyle Benson pitched a scoreless fifth.

Sowden went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Miller was 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Game two ended in the bottom of the fifth when Lacey singled home Tanner Thomas with the final run of the game.

Malik Barrington (2-1) struck out ten and allowed just two hits in 4.1 innings. Vladimir Zavala recorded the final two outs in the fifth.

Taylor Lomack went 2-for-2 and scored two runs. Luke Ard was 2-for-2.
