#TCCBaseball: Eagles sweep LaFleche

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 23, 2018) – Playing its final non-conference games of the season, Tallahassee Community College swept a doubleheader from Lafleche (Canada) College on Friday, winning 3-1 and 3-0. 

Tallahassee (23-12) will resume Panhandle Conference play on Tuesday when it opens a four-game series with Pensacola State College. 

On Friday, pitching was again at the forefront for Tallahassee. 

Six different pitchers combined for 22 strikeouts in the doubleheader and allowed only seven hits in 14 total innings.

Christian Dearman (1-0) picked up the game one win for Tallahassee with 4.2 innings of work. He allowed three hits and struck out five. 

Logan Lacey (4-3) was the winning pitcher in game two. He went 4.1 innings and allowed two hits while striking out eight. 

In game one, the Eagles did all of their scoring in the first two innings. 

Lacey's two-out single scored Mason Miller and Tanner Thomas for a 2-0 lead in the first. An inning later, a Lafleche error plated Cameron Wright and the Eagles lead 3-0. 

Tallahassee had only four hits in game one, including two from Miller (2-2, R). Lacey went 1-for-3 with the two RBIs. 

In game two, the Eagles scored single runs in the second and third innings then Thomas hit a solo homer in the fifth. He was 2-for-2. 

Tuesday's game against Pensacola State will begin at 5 p.m.
