#TCCBaseball drops second straight

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (April 13, 2018) – Friday the 13th proved to be unlucky for Tallahassee Community College's baseball team.

The Eagles spotted Gulf Coast State College a 5-0 lead before falling to the Commodores, 6-3 – Tallahassee's second straight loss after winning seven in a row.

Coupled with Pensacola State College's 10-9 win over Northwest Florida State College, Tallahassee's (32-16, 10-9) lead over the Pirates for second place is down to one game with five to play. Gulf Coast State pulled within two games of the Eagles with the win.

For the first time since the calendar turned to April, Tallahassee struggled on the mound. Starter Alex Stobert (4-2) gave up four earned runs in 2.2 innings, and the Commodores added a fifth run in the fourth for a 5-0 lead.

Tallahassee got on the board in the fifth when a two-out error allowed Alex Mills to score. The Eagles added two more in the sixth – Cole Vann singled home a run and later scored on Mills' RBI-groundout.

Gulf Coast State got one of the runs back in its half of the sixth to complete the score.

Tallahassee managed just five hits on the night.

The teams will play for the final time at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Field.
