#TCCBaseball alum Lorenzo Cain named NL All-Star

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 8, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College alum Lorenzo Cain, the starting centerfielder for the Milwaukee Brewers, has been named to the National League All-Star Team.

Cain and teammates Christian Yelich and Josh Hader made the National League squad as reserves through voting conducted by MLB players.

Cain will be playing in his second All-Star Game. In 2015, he started for the American League as a member of the Kansas City Royals and went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Originally drafted by Milwaukee in 2004, Cain signed with the Brewers following his freshman season with Tallahassee in 2005. Five years later, he made his Major League debut with Milwaukee before being traded to Kansas City in December 2010.

Cain spent the next seven seasons in Kansas City, was the 2014 ALCS Most Valuable Player and helped the Royals to back-to-back World Series and a World Series title in 2015.

Milwaukee re-signed the veteran outfielder during the off-season. In 73 games this season, he is batting .290 with eight home runs, 26 RBI, 50 runs scored and 16 stolen bases.

The 89th Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be played Tuesday, July 17 in Washington, D.C. at Nationals Park.
