TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 7, 2019) – Tallahassee Community College dropped a 9-1 decision to Chipola College in Thursday's Panhandle Conference baseball opener.
Tallahassee is now 15-9 on the season, 0-1 in PC play.
Chipola scored four runs in the second to knock out Tallahassee starter Tyler Lehrmann (3-3). The Indians added to their lead with one run in the fourth and three more in the fifth for an 8-0 lead.
The Eagles got on the board in their half of the fifth.
Chase Forester bunted his way on to start the inning. He eventually scored on Alex Ray's one-out single.
Chipola got the run back in the seventh and held Tallahassee scoreless to end the game via the mercy rule.
The teams will play a doubleheader in Marianna on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. eastern.
