SCF completes weekend sweep of Eagles

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 15, 2020) – State College of Florida jumped out to a 13-0 lead en route to a 13-4 win over Tallahassee Community College on Saturday afternoon at Eagle Field. 

State College of Florida has won two straight while Tallahassee has dropped two in a row, leaving both teams at 7-6 on the season. 

The Manatees jumped on starter Stan King (0-1) for three runs in the top of the first and never looked back. By the fourth, the lead was 7-0 when they added six runs to blow the game wide open. 

John Malcom's two-run homer capped the scoring and gave the Manatees a 13-0 lead. 

Tallahassee got on the board in its half of the fourth Andrew Fernandez tripled home Spencer Hanson

Fernandez, Hanson, Orlando Adams and Dylan Faulkner had Tallahassee's four hits on the afternoon. 

The Eagles got three more runs in the sixth. 

Tallahassee will return to play at 4 p.m. Monday when its hosts Santa Fe College.
