Baseball drops game 2 against Chipola 7-4

TALLAHASSEE, FL (March 10th, 2022) – The Eagles lost a conference game for the first time this season with Chipola taking the second game of this midweek series 7-4.

Braden Halladay (So., RHP) got the start for Tallahassee and went 5.1 innings, allowing just one earned run on two hits, striking out five, and walking none.

Chipola was able to jump out to a 4-0 lead in the seventh inning, but the Eagles threatened a comeback in the bottom half of that inning, scoring two and leaving the bases loaded. The Indians added three more runs in the eighth to go up 7-2, but once again the Eagles were able to find success against the Chipola bullpen. They brought in two more runs and once again, left the bases loaded.

Ethan Krizen (So., C) recorded four hits in the loss, including his first double of the season.

Tallahassee travels to Marianna for a two-game doubleheader against the Indians on Sunday, March 13th. Through two games played, there's a four-way tie for first place in the Panhandle Conference, with Tallahassee, Chipola, Gulf Coast State, and Pensacola State all at 1-1. Northwest Florida State is yet to play a conference game.
