TCC Alum Andrew Fernandez wins OVC PotW

From the Ohio Valley Conference

In four games last week, Fernandez hit .500 (10-for-20) with five runs scored, four doubles, a home run, five RBI, a .500 on-base percentage and .850 slugging percentage. His play helped UT Martin win two of three games from Eastern Illinois (who entered the week with the highest RPI in the OVC), including snapping the Panthers eight-game win streak. Fernandez ranks third in the OVC in doubles (0.33/game), seventh in hits (1.21/game) and 10th in batting (.315).

Fernandez has carved himself a huge role in the Skyhawks' lineup. He is batting .315 on the season, with a .379 on-base percentage.

Fernandez played three seasons at TCC. In his final season with the Eagles, Fernandez received Second-team All-Panhandle Conference honors. In three seasons at TCC, he totalled 108 hits, 12 HR, and 84 RBI.
