NICEVILLE, Fla. (November 1, 2013) - The Tallahassee Community College Eagles showed just how dangerous they can be this season, defeating Lurleen B. Wallace (Ala.) Community College, 82-44 in Friday's season opener.

The win came on day one of the Quality Inn Classic, hosted by Northwest Florida State College.

The Eagles came into today's game against LBW nationally ranked at No. 23 and tied for No. 3 in the FCSAA Men's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Poll.

On the other hand, the Saints were trying to rebound from last season in which they finished with a record of 8-16. However, only one team could start off the 2013-14 campaign with a win.

The Eagles started out strong, putting up 42 points in the first half and allowed only 24. They poured it on after halftime and never looked back.

The duo of sophomore transfers Cameron Naylor (University of North Florida) and Earvin Morris (Kent State University) each finished with a team-high 19 points. Naylor also had 10 rebounds, a block and a steal. Morris had two assists and two steals.

There were many factors which contributed to the Eagles' large margin of victory. The key to the game though was the rebounding differential. The Eagles out-rebounded the Saints 35-16. Tallahassee also made a demoralizing nine three-pointers, and shot 69% from the line with 18 made free-throws.

Overall, it was an impressive and dominating win for the Eagles, who hope to continue their high level of play on Saturday, November 2 as they take on Motlow State (Tenn.) Community College at 4:30 p.m. eastern.
