TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  (November 15, 2013) —This weekend, the Tallahassee Community College men’s basketball team will have its hands full with consecutive road games against the Titans of St. Petersburg College and the Falcons of Daytona State College.

Tallahassee last played on November 9 against Faulkner State (Ala.) Community College, winning handily by the score of 81-67, in the TCC Men’s Tip-Off Classic. Now 4-0, Tallahassee is looking to move up in the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll, as well as improve upon their No. 23 ranking in the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA).

The Eagles’ first challenge will come on Friday, November 15 against St. Petersburg on the Titans’ campus at 7 p.m. The Titans are coming off back-to-back losses against Miami Dade College and the College of Central Florida. The Eagles should not put too much in to the fact, however, because the Titans do have a win against No. 6 Daytona State.

Tallahassee leads the head-to-head series with St. Petersburg, 6-1. The Eagles last played the Titans back on December 14, 2012, and came out with the 91-59 win. The Titans will have two shots at payback this year because aside from tonight’s match the two will play on December 17 at 4 p.m. in the Bill Hebrock Eagledome.

On Saturday, November 16 at 4 p.m., the Tallahassee men will take on the second challenge of their weekend road trip when they pull in to Daytona Beach, Fla., for a date with the Daytona State Falcons.

The Eagles will have to bring their “A” game if they want to soar high and maintain their blemish-free record against the Falcons. Daytona State has been on a bit of a roll lately. After its lone loss to St. Petersburg, the Falcons responded nicely with wins against Hillsborough Community College and Palm Beach State College.

The Eagles have defeated the Falcons 14 of the 22 times the schools have played, including the last two. The teams’ last meeting was on December 15, 2012, resulting in an 87-69 win for Tallahassee.

Tallahassee and Daytona State will square off one more time this season on November 28 at 4:30 p.m. in Tallahassee as part of the Tallahassee Democrat Thanksgiving Classic.
