Eagle men fall 71-52 to St. Petersburg College

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (December 17, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team (NJCAA #19/FCSAA #3) suffered its second consecutive loss as they fell to St. Petersburg College (FCSAA #5) 71-52 on Wednesday afternoon. 

The Eagles were held to a season low 52 points in the loss.  

Jahvaughn Powell led the team with nine points on 4-of-10 shooting.  Dirk Williams scored eight while Norbertas Giga and Rysheed Corbin each scored seven points. As a team, the Eagles shot 32 percent from the field and also struggled from the foul line, hitting just 4-of-9 attempts. 

Conversely, the Titans made 16-of-21 foul shots. 

St. Petersburg struggled offensively to begin the game but found its rhythm in the second half.  Both Prince Foster and Devonte Pratt scored 17 points.  

The Eagles will enter the break with a 12-3 record with their only other two losses coming at the hands of nationally-ranked Southwest Tennessee Community College and Eastern Florida State College. 

The Eagles will be back in action at home on December 30 at 7:30 p.m. against Garrett (Md.) College.
