#TCCBasketball: Eagle men beat Santa Fe to improve to 5-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 15, 2016) – Kiair Crouch scored 22 points to lead NJCAA Region 8 No. 3 Tallahassee Community College past Santa Fe College, 75-59, on Tuesday evening in men's college basketball action.

The Eagles remain unbeaten and will carry a 5-0 record into this weekend's Milton H. Johnson Classic at Chipola College. Santa Fe is now 2-3.

Tallahassee used a suffocating defense to jump out to a 37-19 halftime lead. The Eagles held Santa Fe to just 22.6 percent (7-of-31) shooting during the opening 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, Tallahassee methodically took control of the game behind Crouch, who posted 13 of his 22 points in the opening half. His three-pointer at the 7:02 mark pushed the Eagles' lead to 26-12. When he scored with 1:27 left in the half, Tallahassee led 35-18, and the Eagles took a 37-19 lead to the locker room.

Tallahassee put the game away with an 11-2 run to open the second half. Santa Fe threatened briefly, pulling to within ten (57-47) with 6:08 left, but that's as close as the Saints would get.

Jacob Winston came off the bench to score 12 for Tallahassee. David Simmons added 11.

Sean Dinkins led Santa Fe with 16 points.

Tallahassee will play in Marianna at 4 p.m. eastern both Friday and Saturday. Friday's game is against Combine Academy.
