#TCCBasketball: Eagle men beat No. 14 Palm Beach State

OCALA, Fla. (December 10, 2016) – NJCAA No. 6/Region 8 No. 1 Tallahassee Community College remained unbeaten with an 84-69 win over No. 14/No. 3 Palm Beach State College on Saturday at the Florida College's Men's Basketball Shootout.

The two-day event is taking place at the College of Central Florida in Ocala and Santa Fe College in Gainesville. Tallahassee will return to Ocala on Sunday for a 4 p.m. showdown with Daytona State College, who was ranked No.12 in the NJCAA's preseason poll.

Saturday's game was, arguably, the game of the year, to date, in Region 8. In addition to their lofty national and region rankings, both teams entered with perfect records – Tallahassee, 12-0; Palm Beach State, 11-0.

Tallahassee overcame an early deficit to force a 36-36 tie at the intermission, then took control in the second half.

Although the Eagles put 48 points on the board, the defense was the story, delivering another stingy effort, holding the Panthers to just 33 points – it marked the twelfth time in 13 games the opponent failed to reach 70 points.

David Simmons led the Eagles with 27 points. Kiair Crouch scored 16 of his 21 points after the half. Deion Bute had 16 points.
