PANAMA CITY, Fla. (January 28, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team went on the road on Saturday and picked up a 73-53 win at Gulf Coast State College.
NJCAA No. 11/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee improved to 22-2 overall and 5-1 in Panhandle Conference play.
Leading 35-29 at the half, Tallahassee blew the game open with a 15-1 run to start the second stanza. Including Kiair Crouch's three-pointer to end the first half, it eventually became a 23-3 run, capped by Leon Freeman-Daniels' three-pointer with 12:57 left in the game.
Tallahassee hit 14-of-22 field goal attempts in the second half, outscoring the Commodores, 38-24. For the night, the Eagles shot 51.9 percent (27-of-52) while limiting the Commodores to just 27.3 percent (15-of-55).
Freeman-Daniels led a trio of double-figures scorers for Tallahassee with 22 points. Crouch scored 18 and David Simmons, 10.
Tallahassee will host Chipola College at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
