#TCCBasketball: Eagles drop Snow for ninth win

MELBOURNE, Fla. (December 1, 2017) – NJCAA No. 13/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee Community College overcame a double-digit deficit to defeat Snow (Utah) College, 72-59, on day one action at the Jim Grimes Memorial Classic hosted by Eastern Florida State College.

Tallahassee is now 9-0 heading into Saturday's 2 p.m. game at the Classic against Polk State College.

Friday's game didn't start well for the Eagles, as Snow jumped out to a 14-2 lead. Tallahassee settled down, however, and doubled up the Badgers the remainder of the half, outscoring them 28-14 and led 30-28 at the intermission.

The outcome was still in doubt at the midway point of the second half with Tallahassee guarding a 51-45 lead. Four unanswered points extended the Eagles' advantage to double-digits with 8:37 remaining.

Snow pulled within seven, 59-52, at the 6:14 mark, but Tallahassee gradually pulled away, eventually leading by as many as 16 points with 1:53 left.

The Eagles delivered another strong performance on the defensive end, holding the Badgers under 40 percent shooting. Snow made just 23-of-63 field goal attempts – 36.5 percent – and 5-of-26 from long distance, including 1-of-11 in the second half.

Five players scored in double-figures for Tallahassee, led by Quentin Jackson's 18.

JaQuan Morris and Javien Williams came off the bench to score 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Corey Douglas added 11 and Leon Freeman-Daniels, 10. Freeman-Daniels also dished out a career-high seven assists.
