#TCCBasketball: Eagles fall to NWF State in shootout

NICEVILLE, Fla. (January 18, 2018) – Top-ranked Northwest Florida State College prevailed over Tallahassee Community College on Thursday evening, defeating the Eagles 114-101 in Panhandle Conference men's basketball action. 

Tallahassee fell to 14-5 (1-2 PC) with loss while the Raiders (21-0, 4-0) remained undefeated on the season. 

Offense stole the headlines on Thursday and for good reason. The Raiders shot 64.2 percent (43-of-67) for the night. They were almost as good from long distance, connecting on 15-of-25 (60.0 percent). 

In the second half, Northwest Florida State hit 23-of-32 shots (71.9 percent), outscoring Tallahassee 60-50. 

Tallahassee shot 50.0 percent (36-of-72) on the night and was 20-of-38 (52.6 percent) in the second half. 

The Eagles cooled off late from three-point land before finishing 14-of-30 (46.7 percent). 

Northwest Florida State led 54-51 at the half and put the game away over the first ten minutes of the second half, outscoring the Eagles 30-14. 

Javien Williams led Tallahassee with 33 points. JaQuan Morris came off the bench to score 22. 

Corey Douglas had a double-double, 18 points and 11 rebounds. Leon Freeman-Daniels scored 15. 

Tallahassee will return to action on home on Saturday when it hosts Pensacola State College. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
