#TCCBasketball: Eagle men eliminated from postseason contention

NICEVILLE, Fla. (February 21, 2018) – Like its female counterparts, Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team was in do-or-die mode on Wednesday at Northwest Florida State College.

However, unlike the women, the Eagle men's path to the postseason also required some help – first, tonight from Pensacola State College then on Saturday from Gulf Coast State College.

Before Northwest Florida State's 99-65 win over Tallahassee was official, Chipola College won at Pensacola State to clinch the Panhandle Conference's No. 2 seed, eliminating both the Eagles and Pirates in the process.

Tallahassee will take a 17-10 (4-7 PC) record into Saturday's regular season finale against Pensacola State, needing a win to finish in a third-place tie in the league standings.

Similar to the first two meetings of 2018, Northwest Florida State seemingly couldn't miss on Wednesday.

The Raiders shot 61 percent from the floor in the first half, yet Tallahassee was within eight (44-36) until a trio of three-pointers sent Northwest Florida State to the locker room with a 53-38 lead.

The Raiders put the game away with a 15-0 run to open the second half.

Tallahassee and Pensacola State will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
