#TCCBasketball: Eagle men fall in finale

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 24, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team dropped its final game of the 2017-18 season on Saturday, losing to Pensacola State College, 91-83, on Sophomore Night at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome. 

After a 10-0 start to the season, Tallahassee dropped 11 of its final 18 games to finish 17-11 overall and in fourth place in the Panhandle Conference with a record of 4-8. 

Three of the Eagles' losses came to Pensacola State and in each the Pirates wrestled victory away from Tallahassee. 

A first half featuring nine ties and seven lead changes ended with Tallahassee leading 43-37. 

Quentin Jackson scored off a Pensacola State turnover to give the Eagles' a 66-52 lead, their largest of the night, with 11:33 left in the game. Tallahassee still led by double-digits (77-67) at the 6:54 mark, but Pensacola State closed on a 24-6 run. 

Eleven unanswered points put the Pirates in front, 78-77, with 4:55 left in the game. 

After Leon Freeman-Daniels scored to put Tallahassee back in front by a point, Willesley Butler's basket gave Pensacola State the lead for good at the 3:13 mark. 

Javien Williams scored 23 points to lead Tallahassee. Jacob Winston had 17, Jackson added 15 and Leon Freeman-Daniels contributed 13.
