Stepping Stones: Corey Douglas, Virginia Commonwealth

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 12, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College men's basketball standout Corey Douglas has signed a national letter of intent with Virginia Commonwealth University.

Douglas, a 6-foot-9 forward from Louisville, Ky., transferred to Tallahassee last summer after playing his freshman season at Rice University.

In 26 games with the Eagles in 2017-18, Douglas averaged 13.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 2.7 blocks while shooting 53.4 percent from the floor. Those numbers helped Douglas earn First-team All-Panhandle Conference honors.

At VCU, it will be Douglas' second time playing for head coach Mike Rhoades. Douglas played his freshman season under Rhoades at Rice, but transferred to Tallahassee when VCU hired Rhoades last summer.

Located in Richmond, Va., VCU plays as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
