#TCCBasketball too much for Pasco-Hernando State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 6, 2018) – Four different players recorded double-doubles for Tallahassee Community College on Thursday evening as the NJCAA No. 12/Region 8 No. 3 Eagles ran away from Pasco-Hernando State College, 110-70, in men's action at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome.

Tallahassee will carry a 12-0 record into this weekend's annual Florida College's Men's Basketball Shootout, where it will open play at 5 p.m. Saturday against NJCAA No. 23/Region 8 No. 5 Daytona State College (10-1).

With five players currently averaging double-figures in scoring, a balanced attack has been a staple for head coach Mark White's squad during the 12-game winning streak to open the season. That was, perhaps, never more evident than on Thursday when six players hit double-figures.

Eric Boone was the high man with 22 points. He also dished out 10 assists. Joining Boone with double-doubles were Shamon Mosley (19 points, 11 rebounds), Benly Olizia (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Zool Kueth (10 points, 10 rebounds).

Mustafa Lawrence, who hit five three-pointers, finished with 21 points, and Deven Palmer added 10 points.

Tallahassee put Pasco-Hernando State in a 20-2 hole less than four minutes into the game only to see the Bobcats pull within single digits on two occasions. The last coming at the 8:36 mark on Daniel Jones' three-pointer.

Leading 32-23, Richard Washington, the Eagles' leading scorer at 20.2 points per game, scored in the paint to ignite a 19-0 run. Consecutive baskets by Mosely ended the spurt and a 51-23 lead for Tallahassee with 5:05 left in the half.

Tallahassee scored the final 12 points of the half and led 66-31 at the intermission.

The Eagles led by as many as 47 in the second half and cruised to victory in just their third all-time meeting with Pasco-Hernando State and first in over 26 years.

Tallahassee beat Pasco-Hernando State, then known as the Conquistadors, 99-92 on November 16, 1991, in the Eagles fourth game ever as a member of the NJCAA. The teams met again on November 14, 1992, a 104-60 win for the Eagles.
