#TCCBasketball: Eagle men battle, but fall at NWF

NICEVILLE, Fla. (February 6, 2019) – Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team dropped a 94-69 decision at Northwest Florida State College on Wednesday evening in Panhandle Conference action.

Tallahassee (20-5) fell to 4-4 through two rounds of league play but didn't lose any ground on second-place Chipola College, thanks to Pensacola State College's 83-82 upset win over the Indians on Wednesday.

The Eagles host Gulf Coast State College on Saturday with a chance to move within a half-game of the Indians, who will be idle.

Tallahassee and Chipola play next Wednesday in a game that could carry significant postseason implications.

Tonight, the Raiders came out red hot, hitting seven of their first nine three-point attempts, and were off and running. They led 53-30 at the half.

The lead swelled to as many as 31 by the 12:47 mark of the second half, but Tallahassee needed only a little more than 2:00 to pull within 18. The Eagles didn't get any closer but battled to the final buzzer and were only outscored by two points in the second half.

Richard Washington led the Eagles with 21 points. Eric Boone had 14. Jalen Dalcourt scored 12.

Saturday's game against Gulf Coast State is scheduled for a 5 p.m. tip.
