Eagles start fast, down Albany Tech

ALBANY, Ga. (November 20, 2019) – NJCAA No. 7/Region 8 No. 3 Tallahassee Community College rode a hot first half shooting performance en route to an 81-61 win at Albany (Ga.) Technical College on Wednesday evening. 

Tallahassee is now 6-0 on the season. 

The Eagles blistered the nets during the first 20 minutes, connecting on 17-of-25 field goal attempts, and had a comfortable 46-30 lead at the intermission. 

Tallahassee cooled off in the second half, shooting just 11-of-28 (39.3 percent) but hit 6-of-15 three-pointers and finished 11-of-25 (44.0 percent) from long distance for the game and 28-of-53 (52.8 percent) overall. 

Five players scored in double-figures for the Eagles, led by Jordan Guest, Tariq Silver and DeAndre Gholston, who had 12 points each. 

Rifen Miguel added 11 and Eric Hester, 10. 

After an off day on Thursday, the Eagles will play five games in six days, beginning with Friday and Saturday action at home as part of the Courtyard Tallahassee Downtown/Capitol Classic. Tallahassee will host Southern Crescent (Ga.) Technical College at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Georgia Highlands College at 4 p.m. Saturday.
