TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 11, 2020) – After missing out on an automatic berth to the national tournament, Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team was forced to play the waiting game.

Finally, on Monday, the Eagles heard their name called as one of eight at-large invitees to the 73rd NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship in Hutchinson, Kan.

This will be Tallahassee's fourth appearance all-time in the national tournament and first since 2011 when it advanced to the national quarterfinals. The Eagles finished third in 1997 and lost in the National Championship Game in 2006.

Tallahassee (27-6), ranked No. 12 in the final NJCAA poll of the season, held serve, earning the No. 12 seed in this year's 24-team field. The Eagles will open tournament play at 9:30 p.m. eastern, Monday, March 16 against 21st-seed Shelton (Ala.) State Community College, champions of the South District/Alabama Community College Conference.

The winner will advance to a second-round matchup against No. 5 seed John A. Logan (Ill.) College at 3 p.m. eastern, Wednesday, March 18.

All games will be played at Hutchinson's historic Sports Arena.

All tournament games will be air live on NJCAA TV (www.njcaatv.com) on a pay-per-view basis. Single games can be purchased for $4.99 or a tournament pass for $14.99.

The National Championship Game will air live on the CBS Sports Network on Saturday, March 21.
