El Ellis named Region 8 Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 17, 2021) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA), on Tuesday, announced its Player of the Week Awards and Tallahassee Community College's El Ellis was named NJCAA Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week. 

Ellis, a sophomore from Durham, N.C., averaged 18.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists in three games. He shot 45.0 percent (18-of-40) from the field, 42.1 percent (8-of-19) on threes and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the free throw line. 

Behind Ellis, the top-ranked Eagles picked up three Panhandle Conference victories in the span of five days, including a win over Chipola College in a battle of nationally-ranked teams. 

In the Chipola victory, Ellis recorded his first career double-double – 23 points and 10 assists – and also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.
