PENSACOLA, Fla. (March 27, 2021) – Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team claimed a share of the Panhandle Conference Championship on Saturday evening, knocking off Pensacola State College, 82-57.
The Eagles improved to 19-3 overall and 13-3 in PC play, a school record for conference wins in a season.
Already aware that Chipola College had defeated Northwest Florida State College earlier on Saturday, the Eagles knew they had to win to claim a second straight conference championship.
The game saw 10 ties and five lead changes as Tallahassee clung to a 36-33 lead at the half before opening things up in the second 20 minutes. The Eagles outscored Pensacola State, 46-24.
El Ellis scored 26 points to lead Tallahassee. Shawn Walker added 18. Jeremiah Kendall and Josh Rubio had 12 points each.
