TCC’s El Ellis named First-team All-America
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 5, 2021) – Tallahassee Community College men's basketball standout El Ellis was named First-team All-America by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) on Wednesday.
Ellis, who garnered second-team honors in 2020, is the Eagles' first two-time All-American.
A native of Durham, N.C., Ellis, a six-foot-three-inch point guard, was previously named Panhandle Conference Player of the Year, becoming Tallahassee's first repeat Player of the Year winner and just the conference's third overall since 1997. That honor also earned him First-team All-Panhandle Conference recognition, as well as a spot on the FCSAA All-State team.
Ellis averaged 17.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 22 games while shooting 46.0 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from three and 75.9 percent from the free throw line.
Widely considered the nation's top prospect in the two-year system, Ellis signed with the University of Louisville in November.
