Addison Patterson scores 20 in GLOBL JAM Gold Medal Game

TORONTO, Ont. (July 16, 2023) — Team Canada fell to the University of Kentucky in Saturday's GLOBL JAM gold medal game, but former TCC standout Addison Patterson caught the attention of the national media during the first half. Going into the break, the former top 50 recruit had 18 points. The Wildcats, who represented the United States in the tournament, led 45-39 at the half.

Kentucky played a strong second half, including a 14-1 run in the third quarter to stretch their lead to 19. They kept their comfortable lead and won 89-72. Patterson finished with 20 points, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals.

Kentucky freshman Justin Edwards was the leading scorer on Saturday with 23 points. Edwards' mother, Ebony Twiggs, played for TCC women's basketball in the 2002-03 season.

Saturday's gold medal game was Patterson's last of the summer for Team Canada. The next stop for him is Natchitoches, LA where he will suit up for head coach Rick Cabrera's Northwestern State Demons, joining former TCC teammate JC Riley.
