#TCCXC: Eagles set to host expanded invitational on Saturday
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 18, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College's cross country teams will end a six-week hiatus on Saturday morning by hosting the inaugural TCC Eagle Invite at Apalachee Regional Park.
The Eagles' mid-season break was extended by one week after Hurricane Michael forced the postponement of the FSU Invitational. The Seminoles' annual event includes a high school meet that serves as a course preview for next month's FHSAA State Cross Country Championships.
The TCC Eagle Invite, originally slated for Friday evening, was pushed back to Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago. In the hurricane's aftermath, that decision, combined with FSU's cancellation, prompted head coach Gary Droze to add a pair of high school races on the famed ARP course.
The Tallahassee men will run the 5K course at 8:15 a.m. At 8:45 a.m., Tallahassee and Florida Gateway College's women will compete in a dual meet.
At 9:15 a.m., the high school boys will run a 5K followed by the high school girls at 9:45 a.m.
