TCC Softball climbs in NJCAA poll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 18, 2015) - Tallahassee Community College moved up one spot to No. 6 in the latest Marucci NJCAA Division I Softball Poll, released on Wednesday.

Tallahassee was ranked seventh last week but swept a pair of games from Andrew (Ga.) College on March 12 to improve to 18-6 on the season.

The Eagles are one of four Region 8 schools in the top six. The College of Central Florida is No. 1 for the second straight week, followed by No. 3 Seminole State College and No. 5 Indian River State College.

A fifth school from Region 8, Chipola College, is ranked fifteenth, and a sixth, St. Johns River State College, received votes.

Tallahassee's 18 wins includes a doubleheader sweep of No. 8 Chattanooga State (Tenn.) Community College and single wins over No. 19 Spartanburg (S.C.) Methodist College and Walters (Tenn.) State Community College, who received votes.

The Eagles opened Panhandle Conference play on Wednesday and will have two doubleheaders against Chipola over the next month.
