Eagles Wrap-up Regular Season On A High Note

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 24, 2015) – Tallahassee Community College's softball team wrapped up the 2015 regular season with a doubleheader against Florida State College at Jacksonville on Friday afternoon, and the Eagles posted a sweep with a 4-1 victory in game one and 10-3 triumph in game two. 

The Eagles finish the regular season with a 29-15 record as they now turn their attention to the FCSAA Tournament in Vero Beach, Fla., May 1-3. 

Game one saw the Eagles fall behind early after the Blue Wave jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. 

The Eagles scored a run in the top of the third inning to even the score at 1-1. 

In the top of the fifth inning the Eagles scored three runs to seal the victory. 

Kayla Boucher went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a double.  

Gabrielle Decker got the start for the Eagles and pitched 3 1/3 innings only giving up three hits.  Mariah Rivera entered the game in relief and threw 3 2/3 innings while surrendering three hits. 

In game two, the Eagles ran away with a 10-3 victory. 

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, scoring a run in the game's opening inning.  In the second inning, the Eagles opened it up, scoring four runs to take a 5-0 lead. 

The Blue Wave rallied back with two runs in the third inning to cut the lead to 5-2. 

However, the Eagles matched with two runs of their own in the fourth inning to push the lead back to five at 7-2. 

Both teams scored in the sixth inning before the Eagles closed the game out with two more runs in the seventh.

Taesha DuBoise went 3-for-4 with four runs, six RBIs, a double, and a grand slam for the Eagles. 

Alexandra Cook got the start in game two and went three innings and only gave up two runs on three hits.  

Rivera entered the game in relief and threw four innings surrendering one run on two hits.
