#TCCSoftball heads to Chipola for second PC DH

Tallahassee-Chipola statistical comparison

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 20, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's softball team will look to get in the win column in Panhandle Conference play on Sunday when it travels to defending national champion Chipola College.

Game one of the doubleheader begins at 2 p.m. eastern.

Tallahassee (14-12) had a five-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday when it opened league play against Northwest Florida State College. After dropping game one, 9-0, the Eagles were poised to gain a sweep, carrying a 3-0 lead to the top of the seventh. By the time Tallahassee stepped to the plate for its final at-bat, it trailed 9-3 and eventually fell, 9-4.

Up next is a pair of games against the PC co-leaders, who swept its opening doubleheader at Gulf Coast State College, winning 4-2 and 16-3.

Tallahassee plays three doubleheaders in the next seven days, a stretch that could go a long way in determining the Eagles' postseason fate. Tallahassee hosts Pensacola State College on Wednesday and Gulf Coast State next Saturday.

The top four teams in the Panhandle Conference will advance to the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Softball Tournament in Vero Beach, Fla.
