Tallahassee vs. Pensacola State statistical comparison

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 22, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College will host the first of two consecutive doubleheaders on Wednesday when the Eagles welcome Pensacola State College to the TCC Softball Complex.

Game one is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Both games can be seen online at TCCeagles.com.

Both Tallahassee (15-13) and Pensacola State (15-15) are coming off game two victories in its most recent doubleheader.

The Eagles picked up a 7-4 win at nationally-ranked Chipola on Sunday while the Pirates won 3-2 in eight innings at Gulf Coast State College on Monday. The latter left Pensacola State at 1-1 in PC play, good for third place in the league standings. Meanwhile, Tallahassee and Gulf Coast State are tied for fourth at 1-3.

A lot can change over the next four days, however. Tallahassee also hosts Gulf Coast State on Saturday, providing the Eagles with a golden opportunity to strengthen their position in the PC standings.

Freshman pitcher Raya Moncus has been a bright spot through the Eagles' first two PC dates. Last Wednesday, she took a 3-0 lead to the seventh against NJCAA No. 4 Northwest Florida State College before ending up with a no-decision in the Eagles' 9-4 loss. On Sunday, she went the distance in the game two victory.

Wednesday also marks the return of former Eagle player and assistant coach Jennifer McKibben, now an assistant at Pensacola State. McKibben played at Tallahassee in 1995 and 1996 before finishing her collegiate career at Virginia Tech. She returned to the Eagles in 2005 as an assistant to head coach Patti Townsend and held that position through the end of the 2013 season when she accepted a role as volunteer assistant at the University of New Mexico.
