#TCCSoftball sweeps Darton State, runs win streak to five

ALBANY, Ga. (March 29, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's softball team ran its winning streak to five games on Tuesday, sweeping a doubleheader at Darton (Ga.) State College.

The Eagles picked up a 3-1 win in game one then won game two by a 2-1 score.

In the nightcap, solo home runs by Jaylene Pryor and Khayreyah Parrish in the top of the fifth provided all of the offense for Tallahassee.

Freshman pitcher Raya Moncus (8-5) did the rest, earning the complete-game victory with a five-hit effort. She struck out four.

In game one, Alexandra Cook (10-7) tossed a three-hitter in the Eagles' 3-1 win. She allowed an unearned run in the first and struck out five.

Trailing 1-0, Tallahassee tied things up in the third. Parrish led off the inning with a single and eventually scored on a Cavaliers error.

The Eagles plated the go-ahead runs in the sixth.

Doubles by Madisen Blair and Casey Durham produced what proved to be the winning run, and Durham scored on an RBI-single by Pryor.

Tallahassee (19-13) is scheduled to host Gulf Coast State College at 4 p.m. Thursday in a Panhandle Conference doubleheader.
