TCC’s Taesha DuBoise signs with Campbell

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 4, 2015) – Tallahassee Community College softball standout Taesha DuBoise has signed a national letter of intent with Campbell University.

DuBoise, a native of Stockbridge, Ga., was the Eagles' starting centerfielder for the past two seasons, appearing in a total of 105 games and compiling a .339 career batting average with three home runs – one of the inside-the-park variety – 58 RBIs and 36 stolen bases.

According to DuBoise, Campbell emerged as the total package when considering where to spend her next two years.

"I was really attracted to the beautiful campus, intimate class setting and degree programs offered," she said. "I believe it (Campbell) is going to be a good fit for me academically and athletically, as well as making a great impact on my spiritual beliefs.

"Campbell will be a great place to transition to and a great place to further my education."

Last month, DuBoise was named an NJCAA Division I Third-team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) after posting a .357 batting average, two home runs, 37 RBIs and 27 stolen bases in 2015. She was also named First-team All-Panhandle Conference and NJCAA Division I First-team All-South Region by the NFCA this past season.

As a freshman, DuBoise was a key component in Tallahassee's run to the 2014 Panhandle and FCSAA State Championships. She batted .321 with 21 RBIs and nine stolen bases (in 11 chances) en route to being named Second-team All-Panhandle Conference.

In addition to winning championships on the field, DuBoise earned top accolades in the classroom. She was named TCC Athletics' 2015 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and, earlier this summer, graduated with honors and earned a spot on the NJCAA's Academic Student-Athlete Awards list.

"The professors at TCC were great and set a great foundation for me," added DuBoise. "Athletically, I can say nothing but great things about (head) Coach Patti (Townsend) and (assistant) Coach Emily (Miller).

"I truly learned a lot from Coach Patti on the field, and she has impacted my life a great deal. She challenged me and taught me how important it is to make life decisions. I made a great decision to attend TCC, will always be forever grateful for the opportunity she gave me, and it was an honor playing for her and representing the Tallahassee Community College Eagles."

Campbell, an NCAA Division I school, is located in Buies Creek, N.C., and competes in the Big South Conference.
