#TCCSoftball’s Blair, Cecchetti earn NFCA honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 2, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College’s Madisen Blair and Elisa Cecchetti have been named Second-team All-South Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). 

Blair and Cecchetti, both freshmen, were among 94 student-athletes from 46 NJCAA programs nationwide to receive NFCA all-region honors. 

Blair, a first baseman from Jacksonville, Fla., was previously named First-team All-Panhandle Conference after leading the Eagles in almost every offensive category. She played in all 44 games in 2016 and batted .383 with eight doubles, three triples, five home runs, 30 RBIs, a .404 on-base percentage and .589 slugging percentage. 

Cecchetti, who hails from Bollate, Italy, was also a first-team All-Panhandle Conference selection in 2016. She played in 43 games, primarily at catcher but also saw some spot duty at shortstop, and batted .322 with 21 runs scored, three doubles, two triples and 19 RBIs. 

Both are now eligible for NFCA All-America honors, which will be announced June 8.
