#TCCSoftball picks up sweep on day two of Triple Crown

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (February 5, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's softball team delivered a pair of shutouts on day two of the Triple College Classic.

The Region 9 No. 9 Eagles opened the day with a 13-0 win over Palm Beach State College then turned around and picked up a 6-0 victory over NJCAA No. 13/Region 8 No. 4 Indian River State College.

The win over Indian River State capped a 3-1 weekend at the event for Tallahassee, who gained a measure of payback for a 9-1 opening weekend loss to the Pioneers at the JUCO Kickoff Tournament & Showcase.

The Eagles scored a pair of runs in the third and took the 2-0 lead to the sixth where they put the game away with four runs.

Raya Moncus did the rest, tossing a complete-game three-hitter and striking out six.

In the first game of the day, Gunter hit her fourth home run of the weekend as the Eagles cruised to the 13-0 win over Palm Beach State. She finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Alyssa NeSmith was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Samantha Malik was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBIs and a home run.
