#TCCSoftball wins pair at Andrew

CUTHBERT, Ga. (March 24, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College swept a softball doubleheader from Andrew (Ga.) College on Friday, winning 13-4 and 6-4, the latter coming in eight innings.

Tallahassee moved back above .500 with the sweep, improving to 17-15.

In game two, the Eagles jumped out to a 4-0 lead and were one out away from completing the sweep, but Andrew tied things up on a grand slam and sent the game to extra innings.

In the top of the eighth, Samantha Malik's two-out, two-run homer – her second of the game – broke the tie and proved to be the difference.

Callie Paine picked up the game two victory for Tallahassee.

In the opener, Tallahassee smacked three home runs en route to a 13-4, five-inning victory.

Jewliana Castillo picked up her first collegiate victory in the circle for the Eagles.

Tallahassee will return to Panhandle Conference play when it hosts Northwest Florida State College for a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
