#TCCSoftball qualifies for FCSAA Tournament

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 11, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's softball team advanced to the postseason on Tuesday without having to take the field.

The Eagles, enjoying the bye in the conference schedule, punched their ticket to the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Softball Tournament, thanks to Chipola College's 3-0, game one win at Pensacola State College.

This marks the 11th time in 14 seasons that Tallahassee has qualified for the postseason under head coach Patti Townsend.

Tallahassee will enter the postseason as the No. 4 seed from the Panhandle Conference, regardless of the outcome in Thursday's regular season finale at Northwest Florida State College.

Tallahassee will open play in the 16-team, double-elimination event at 11 a.m., Friday, April 28 against NJCAA No. 4/Region 8 No. 2 Florida SouthWestern State College, champions of the Suncoast Conference. Win or lose, the Eagles will play a second game on April 28 at 4 p.m. against either the Southern Conference Runners-up or the No. 3 seed from the Mid-Florida Conference.

The tournament will take place at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fla.
