#TCCSoftball falls twice at Seminole Invite

SANFORD, Fla. (March 4, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College dropped both games on Sunday at the Seminole State College Invite, falling to St. Petersburg College, 6-0, and St. Johns River State College, 8-0.

After winning Saturday's first game against Miami Dade College, the Eagles dropped their final three games in the event and now sit at 9-15-1 on the season.

In Sunday's first game, St. Petersburg scored a run in its first at-bat and that turned out to be enough for starting pitcher Amanda Patch, who tossed a seven-hit shutout in the 6-0 win.

Callie Paine took the loss for Tallahassee.

The Titans added single runs in the second and fifth innings then put the game away with three runs in the sixth.

Jaycee Thomas was on the only player with multiple hits for Tallahassee. She went 2-for-4 and stole a base.

St. Johns River State dealt Tallahassee another shutout in game two, winning 8-0.

The Vikings led 1-0 after the first and 5-0 after two complete. They added two more runs in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Thomas was again the only player with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Hanna Stapleton took the loss in the circle for the Eagles.

Tallahassee will close its non-conference schedule on Wednesday with a trip to Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College. Game one of the doubleheader begins at 3 p.m.
