#TCCSoftball: Eagles split with ABAC

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 7, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College picked up a 7-2 win in game two to split Thursday's doubleheader with Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College. 

ABAC won game one, 3-1. 

Tallahassee (9-17-1) earned the split behind Shaquoya Williams' complete-game hitter. Only one the two runs she allowed was earned, she walked three and struck out six. 

The Eagles broke a scoreless tie in the third. 

Jaycee Thomas' RBI-single drove in the first run. An ABAC error plated Samantha Malik, and Krystal Haynes' followed with a run-scoring single to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. 

Tallahassee doubled its lead with three runs in the fifth and added one more in the sixth on Thomas' RBI-triple. 

ABAC broke up Williams' shutout bid, scoring two runs in the seventh. 

Thomas went 3-for-4, scored twice and drove in two runs. 

In game one, Tallahassee managed just three hits in the 3-1 loss. 

Malik's sixth-inning single scored Brandie Callaway with the Eagles' lone run of the game.

Hanna Stapleton took the loss for Tallahassee. 

Up next for the Eagles is the Panhandle Conference opener on Tuesday against Pensacola State College. Game one will begin at 4 p.m. at the TCC Softball Complex.
