#TCCSoftball rally falls short vs. Pensacola State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 11, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College spotted Pensacola State College a seven-run lead before falling to the Pirates, 7-4, in softball action on Wednesday afternoon.

Tallahassee (10-31-1, 0-15) remained winless in league play while Pensacola State stayed out front in the race for second place and the top seed in next week's three-team conference tournament to determine the Panhandle Conference's second postseason berth.

Pensacola State's first five batters drew a walk and the Pirates led 4-0 after one half inning. By the time Tallahassee came to bat in the second, it was 7-0.

The score remained 7-0 into the fourth when the Eagles got on the board.

Three straight singles, the last by Olivia Russell, resulted in two runs. Russell later scored on Lily Adams' double. Adams drove in the Eagles' final run in the sixth on a ground out to second.

Russell and Samantha Malik had two hits each for Tallahassee.

Hanna Stapleton (0-7) took the loss in the circle for the Eagles.
